  9. Increase energy expenditure, metabolic rate and promote a leaner physique.
  10. Increase energy and mood.
Reason 9.
Cardiovascular exercise will increase energy expenditure, metabolic rate and promote leaner physique. We all have heard this and its great to read it again and again. Exercise expends energy. So if you want to lose weight expend more energy than the food you feed in your face. You will burn more calories, fat and have a leaner physique to show off at the beach.

  1. Just a bit of info in relation to a run on a treadmill...

a 20 min run at 10km p/hr will burn approx 270 calories in an average person. Thats a whole lotta cals you can strip off in a short amount of time... yes it burns to run, yes its hard, yes it hurts... but its only 20 mins in a whole 24 hours... if you do it daily. You will notice how quickly your body will adapt to expecting cardio training, and how quickly it gets easier.

If you struggle to do continous runs, try intervals, set yourself a target of say 6 intervals of 2 min runs within the 20 mins, keep that up a few times and before you know it, your body will want to run the full 20 mins!!

*****Discipline is the bridge between goals and acievements*****

  2. Great feedback Tonia. That's some valuable stuff right there. 270 calories in just 20 minutes per day. Losing weight is all about this stuff, calorie intake and expenditure is key and that is BIG info! Know what your putting in and what your burning. Its a numbers game!
