Increase your functional strength

If functional movement is the co-ordinated recruitment of muscles used to perform everyday activities. Then increasing functional strength will help us to carry out everyday movements with less effort and more ease.

Get the most out of your strength training by doing functional exercises.
- The squat, squat jump, deadlift
- The push up, bench press
- Pull ups, chin ups

As your strength and co-ordination improves add more complex versions. Clap push ups, lunges and lunge jumps, chins ups with legs horizontal to floor. Now your adding an even greater challenge and introducing more muscle fibres, challenging your core stability more and improving flexibility also through the hip flexor in the lunge for example.
